The Biosite Story

Biosite was established in 2010 to respond to the challenges of managing a highly transient workforce in construction. Founders Li Wang and Greg Reynolds, computer science and electronic engineering experts respectively, realised that biometrics played a crucial role in understanding who was on site, in real time, and the impact this had on managing safety and performance. Biometrics would provide confidence in data and the ability to generate insight from that data that could have a material impact on the workforce and project progress.

Biosite - a trusted partner for construction

The low-quality fingerprints typically found amongst construction workers meant that the accuracy and performance of existing biometric access control systems was limited. So, together with fellow algorithm design expert, Adam Bowen, they designed a unique biometric fingerprint algorithm that was, and still is, 99.99% accurate. Even with low quality fingerprints. This meant workforce data captured on site was accurate and the process effiicient - speed of throughput is < 1 second.

From this solid foundation point, the growing team developed accompanying solutions, from workforce management software and access control hardware, to a temporary wireless fire alarm system - all deveoped in-house - to form The Biosite System that we know today.

Today, Biosite is a market leader and trusted solutions provider for construction.

Biosite's powerful combination of software and hardware, performance and reputation was noticed by ASSA ABLOY, the global leader in access solutions and in 2020, Biosite was acquired by the group to join the ASSA ABLOY Global Solutions division. Now, Biosite is on a mission to share the Biosite System and ethos with construction companies across the globe, to optimise safety, security, efficiency and compliance on site.
