Mosaic employed to help Costain & Skanska on HS2 enabling works project

Costain and Skanska have been awarded the South Enabling Works Contract for High Speed Two (HS2) Ltd. The award is worth up to £300m to the Joint Venture (JV) parties over four years. Mosaic has been chosen as the preferred partner to deliver an online health and safety solution, supporting their workforce and supply chain for the period of the works.

The project will cover the essential preparatory work needed to deliver the main HS2 programme on time and on budget. It will create jobs and training opportunities across the JV’s UK-wide supply chain. Mosaic will provide the JV with branded smart card access facilities that allows the clients to easily check workforce competencies across the supply chain.

The package will also include functionality that allows all safety briefings and ‘toolbox’ talks to be captured in real-time, thereby allowing total transparency of ‘safety’ delivery. Occupational Health will also be recorded via the system along with Fatigue monitoring of safety critical workers.

John Micciche, Mosaic’s MD said “We are delighted to be involved with Costain & Skanska on this prestigious infrastructure project. Once again will be delivering a Passport Solution for their workforce that truly allows their Project Managers real-time health & safety data. This will certainly be beneficial to both the workforce and the bottom line over the course of the project, as accuracy is guaranteed and administration time reduced”.
